Admissions

General Information

Hospital fees at Bloemcare are charged according to the negotiated rates between the hospital and the medical aid funds.

Patients can only be admitted to Bloemcare when booked by a psychiatrist. If a patient does not have a treating psychiatrist, he/she may be referred to a psychiatrist by a general practitioner or clinical psychologist. The psychiatrist will arrange for admission to Bloemcare.

Parking

Patients are permitted to park their vehicles in the designated parking area. Although Bloemcare provides 24-hour security, all vehicles are parked at patients’ own risk.

Admission Times

The admission times for patients whose beds have been booked by a psychiatrist is Monday morning between 07h00 and 10h00. The reservation will be cancelled should you not have reported at Bloemcare by 12h00 on the day of admission and no alternative arrangements have been made.

Patients with an emergency who have not been referred to Bloemcare by a psychiatrist, must first go to the casualty department of a general hospital, i.e. Medi Clinic/Life Rosepark Hospital.

Patients are urged to make prior arrangements for all non-treatment related matters during their stay at Bloemcare because no weekend leave or permission to leave the premises will be granted to patients during their stay.
