If patients experience physical pain caused by stress and tension, such as neck or back spasms, their psychiatrist will refer them to a physiotherapist. The physiotherapists will arrange appointments with the patient and will treat them in their rooms or at the physiotherapist’s room at offices@bloemcare.
Psychologists & Psychiatrists
Patients are referred to Bloemcare by a psychiatrist who will treat them while they are in the clinic. This enables the psychiatrist to closely monitor the patient’s medication and state of mind and make appropriate adjustments and recommendations. Patients will also see a psychologist while in Bloemcare. The patient will be referred by their psychiatrist to a psychologist if they have not been counselled by a psychologist prior to their stay in Bloemcare.
A qualified biokineticist offers training sessions in the Bloemcare gym from Mondays to Fridays, between 07h30 and 08h00. Patients can be referred to a biokineticist to assist them with an exercise programme for specific needs, e.g. stress-related backache.
Patients with special dietary needs, e.g. low cholesterol, can be referred to a dietician. Appropriate special meals will be served for these patients during their stay at Bloemcare.
A team of occupational therapists co-ordinate the group therapy programme at Bloemcare.
